Réalisation d'une sculpture avec des matériaux recyclés de l'Usine Rio Tinto/Alcan de Shawinigan, maintenant Général Cable, avec la participation des employés. À travers cette réalisation participative, je fais un lien avec l’histoire autochtone et le passage des travailleurs de cette usine pour leur survie ; cette sculpture qui signifie « L’Homme est passé par ici ». Cette usine située à Shawinigan dont le nom signifie en atikamekw « passage sur la crête » a guidé le choix de la forme sculpturale à réaliser. Cette création est une reconnaissance du territoire où circulaient autrefois la communauté atikamekws pour leur vie de nomades.
Creation of a sculpture using recycled materials from the Rio Tinto/Alcan plant in Shawinigan, now General Cable, with the participation of employees. Through this participatory project, I make a connection with Indigenous history and the passage of workers from this plant for their survival; this sculpture means “Man has passed through here.” This factory, located in Shawinigan, whose name means “passage over the ridge” in Atikamekw, guided the choice of the sculptural form to be created. This creation is a recognition of the territory where the Atikamekw community once roamed as nomads.
